It is important to implement these particular ways of thinking in conjunction with your day-to-day tasks, that’s when I started to see real money start to flow.
You might be asking, “If that’s the case, why spend so much time on day-to-day tasks, why not spend more time on the strategies of reaping and sowing?”
Because the majority of people I run into today are just not ready for that way of thinking, unfortunately. For instance, I got into Network Marketing for 5 main reasons:
1) To Make Some Money!
2) To Make More Money!
3) To Make Lots Of Money!
4) To Make Lots & Lots Of Money!
5) To Make Lots & Lots & Lots Of Money!
6) All of the above
I didn’t join a Network Marketing to learn people skills or change my attitude. And, I’ll venture to say, neither did you and your downline!
I do not subscribe to the philosophy that all you have to do is pray over your mailing list and you will get rich! But, I do believe that:
Financial Success is the result of Hard work multiplied by correct knowledge multiplied by genuine prayer.
So, please don’t ever think for a minute that either strategies or knowledge on their own can make your successful. These items must work hand in hand in order for you to achieve a long term residual income through the vehicle of Network Marketing.
It’s important to remember this crucial point as you finish this article.
20% of the people you TALK to will get in your business no matter what you have said, because the opportunity and the timing is right for them.
20% of the people you TALK to will not get in no matter what you say. Even if you paid them they wouldn’t join.
60% are both interested and skeptical at the same time. They can’t make up their mind. They know they need to do something to make more money, but to quite frank, they’re scared to make a decision!
What are they afraid of? That’s simple. They’re afraid:
A) Their spouse may find out!
B) Of throwing away their money. They only have a limited budget and want to be 100% absolutely sure before they spend it.
C) Making the wrong choice. With so many opportunities out there (especially on the Internet) they’re afraid of picking the wrong one.
D) Of failing-again. They joined a company in the past and it either went out of business, or they bought some product and never tried to recruit anyone-or they talked to a few friends and they laughed or scoffed them out of the business.
E) Of talking to people. You’d be amazed at how many people today lack the proper skills and self-confidence to carry on a simple conversation with someone they don’t know! Actually, you probably wouldn’t be surprised.
People feel that they do not have any time to build a business. They have kids, church, bowling, softball, hockey, TV (can’t miss that, they may cancel Survivor!)
Now don’t get me wrong, I love TV, but now I just download what I want to watch at times when I can’t be doing anything else productive. Believe me when I say, I still get a chance to watch TV.
Let’s face it, once your prospects butt hits the couch and they have the remote control in their hand, it’s all over!
One thing that I have noticed, and I have tried hard is that I’ve yet to be paid to watch TV, bowl, golf or play softball, yet every weekend Americans organize their entire lives around these events-and complain to their friends next to them in the bleachers how they have no money and don’t know how their going to make ends meet that month. I’ve decided this is a “National Sickness”, and it’s my job to provide the “cure”.
Now I don’t suggest going overboard by trying to “convince” your friends and associates of their “doom”, however, a simple, effective plan to help those who reach up their hand from the “grind of day-to-day life” and whisper “HELP!” is what I recommend.
It’s no wonder your prospects tell you, “how am I going to find the time to build a downline?” These folks obviously don’t know the beauty of “time compounding”-and they seriously need to reprioritize their lives!
Simply they’re just scared of making a decision! Why? Because they’re not used to making them. Their company, boss, parents, friends and spouse make decisions for them all day, every day. And, when called upon in a moment of conviction-they hesitate and say, “wait a minute, nobody is telling me to do this, if it was such a good thing, why isn’t everybody who tells me what to do every day, doing it?”
Fear leads to doubt. Doubt leads to confusion. And, when your prospect is confused, they just fade back into their day-to-day routine and reach for the remote control and do nothing. I’ve seen it time and time again. Someone gets excited and then changes their mind the next day. Somebody “got” to them.
Usually, it’s a co-worker, boss or family member or even a spouse that gets to them. But, more frequently, the prospect talks themselves out of taking action even before they share the idea of joining your program with anyone else. They “self-talk” themselves right out of their opportunity and right back into their regular routine.
They say things to themselves like, “my job really isn’t all that bad, and you know, I’m due for a cost-of-living raise this year.” Or, “I don’t have any time”, or “I don’t have any previous experience”, “what would my friends, family and co-workers think?” And, “I’ve tried Network Marketing before, it doesn’t work-it’s not for me!”
And, sadly enough, they have such a low self-esteem, they even say, “what do I know about making money? I’ve never run a business, and you know, I got into that opportunity a few years ago, bugged all my friends, told them I was going to get rich, and nothing happened-I’m just now getting over that embarrassment, besides who’d want to join with me anyway, I’m just a loser!”
Sound familiar?
It should. We all have said those things before, I know I have. So, in order to overcome your prospects way of thinking you have to be good at one thing-TECHNIQUE! To be a Master Recruiter you have to be able to detect these warning signs of your prospects fading into the woodwork-and learn what questions to ask them and when in the conversation you do so. You have to provide a good impression to your prospects to help them through their “fear factor” of joining your Network Marketing opportunity.
Expect to make mistakes along the way and learn from them. I still make them today, however I just make fewer ones than you do right now.
By the way I’ve failed more than you have. I’ve had more “no’s” than you have.
Get to love the “no’s”, because you are getting closer to a “yes”.
